  We arrived at Coffs Harbour with the intention of driving to Byron Bay, we had mentioned where we were driving, we did not get informed that there would be a fee if we went over the daily driving allowance - for this we were penalised an additional cost. For three days for a tiny car it cost us a total of $208 - there are hire car services there that are cheaper.

  This may have been an oversight due to the airport is a small airport, when a flight arrives the airport becomes flooded with civilians, possibly staff were overwhelmed and were not used to seeing so many people and forgot to disclose that if we went over there would be an additional cost?
