  Dishonest and bullying - I never had an issue with a landlord until I rented from NSW Real Estate. We rented a house they manage in Sapphire Beach for 9 months. It was in a very run down but basically clean condition when we rented it. We were sure to clean it to an excellent standard upon leaving, spending 8 hours doing it ourselves (as we couldn't find a company who could come out on the Sunday we were leaving). The agent for NSW Real Estate sent us a very long and extremely pedantic list of minor points she demanded that we fix. This included an illegal demand that we steam clean the small carpet even though we didn't have pets, and that the carpet had been dirty when we rented it. Despite the fact that we'd more than met our obligations for cleaning and otherwise, and that we offered to come by within a couple of days to rectify the (very) minor points in the spirit of compromise, the agent hired her friend to clean the place and charged us for it. The agent recommended her friend to us 4 times in a row. We had looked to hire her friend but she was unable to clean it until the following Friday (our lease ended on Sunday). Her friend stated that the agent wouldn't mind waiting 5 days because they were friends. We didn't hire the friend because it felt "not right" and a little weird. Ironically when we offered to come by and re-clean the home in the spirit of compromise by Friday, the agent said this wasn't soon enough (was only 2 days at that point)! So if her friend was getting paid to clean it that was OK, but if her friend wasn't getting paid to clean it, it couldn't wait? Hold on, I smell a rat. Who's paying whom? We ended up having to go to the Tribunal, which NSW Real Estate paid $50 for in pursuit of only $140. In other words, a total waste of our time, but putting us in our place for not hiring the friend of the agent to clean the house (and not steam cleaning the carpet). We have since met 3 people who have had similar experiences with the same agent at NSW Real Estate. There is a definite pattern of bullying and preying upon weak tenants. At the Tribunal the judge ridiculed NSW Real Estate for bringing the action for only $140 and suggested we either settle halfway ($70 each) or come back for another day at court. NSW Real Estate very grudgingly accepted the offer to meet halfway. These people are bullies who operate unethically and illegally (i.e. forcing tenants to pay for steam cleaning carpets). They should not be allowed to conduct business.

  These guys took over the management of our properties almost four years ago, and we haven’t looked back since. We’d previously endured more than our fair share of problem tenants and had serious doubts about whether it was all worth it, but NSW have always found us good tenants and provided us with excellent advice. They’re thorough and professional and really know their stuff. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

  I would never recommend nsw realestate to anyone they are rude and all they want is your money. And they make it so hard for you to get another rental with other realestates even if you have a good rental history. If I ever have money to buy a house Im not buying it through this realestate.
